Whether you have a tight budget or you want to save up some money for you to travel more around the UK and Europe. There are a few stores that we were told by our seniors that you can get items for as low as £1.
These are the few stores that are at our "disposal".
(Click the picture above to link to Poundland website)
Poundland, just as described by its name, it sells most of its goods at £1 (which is around RM 5+ when converted).
Basically poundland is located is many places around Sheffield, including Moor Street and Meadow Hall.
Poundland sells almost everything you'll generally need to stay alive in UK, from cooking utensils, food (snacks, cereals, sandwiches, biscuits etc), stationery, batteries, toys, toiletries, fashion, health products, beauty care products, DVDs and many many more.
However, some of the products are quite seasonal. The product range changes from time to time. One day you might see a £1 Heinz Mayonnaise, one day you might find it hard to get it. So, stock up while you got the chance !!

The sametype of bargain applies to 99p stores. It's pretty obvious that Poundland and 99p shop are competitors. In 99p shop, you'll get all the items you need for only 99p each.
Similar to Poundland, 99p shops covers a huge range of products as well. Some seasonal products as well. So, if you discover a deal, quickly stock up !!

This would be your ultimate source of food !! Sainsbury is basically a large supermarket chain in UK.
You can basically find all types of food in Sainsbury, both cooked, uncooked or even partially cooked. If you would like to cook yourself at home, here is a convenient place to source for your cooking materials.
Take note with the special promotion items. Those are items which are near expiry, but are sold at a amazingly low price. This is a way of saving money in UK. Don't worry, if you pick the items carefully, you most probably would not die from eating those food.
Sainsbury, other than selling other branded items, the retailer also holds a lot of private label brand, which are priced affodably. Their quality is not bad actually. See if you could find a 13p bottle of curry sauce (my favorite).

Jack Fulton - the master of frozen food. There are several outlets of Jack Fulton in UK. jack Fulton specializes is frozen food.
Obviously, frozen food (chicken, meat, bacon, pizza, etc) would always be cheaper than fresh food. So, if you would like a bargain, come take a look in this store.
Don't worry about not being able to find this shop, they are just around the corner. You won't miss them.

Wondering what is this? This is Sheffield's Castle Market.
It is basically a market (aka pasar in Malaysia) which sells a variety of typical market stuff - fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, chicken, beef, clothings, bags, cakes, pet food, candy and many more (no Roti Canai though).
This is a very good place to source for ingredients for own cooking, as well. Some food here are cheaper, while some are more expensive (obviously). The prices changes from time to time. So, grab them while you can.
Careful when picking your vegetables or fruits though, some vendors do not like you touching their products.
Our favorite vegetable : Iceberg (not the ice, it's a type of vegetable)
Location: very near to SHU, just around the corner.
Some other stuff :
Other than the stores we mentioned above we also found this website to be quite useful : mysupermarket
You can compare prices of goods between 4 supermarkets : Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and ocado. You can shop online, they also provide deliveries, the prices are updated daily, and etc. The rest are up for you to explore to see whether the website really suits what you need ^^
